Biography

Audie Thompson is a Research Biologist in the Environmental Engineering Branch at the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). She joined the Sustainable Water Infrastructure Materials Research (SWIMR) team in July 2022. The team investigates graphene utilization for water treatment, membrane-based concentration technologies for PFAS destruction, and composites for harmful algal blooms (HABS) management. She leads a project focused on lanthanide extraction and participates in research on removing contaminants and toxins from various water sources. She received her doctoral degree in Biochemistry from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
