Biography

Frank E. Löffler is a professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He holds the Goodrich Chair of Excellence in Civil Engineering. He is an environmental microbiologist and his group conducts fundamental research to better understand, control and manipulate microbiomes involved in carbon cycling, nitrogen turnover, and contaminant degradation in natural and engineered systems.
