Biography

Dora Taggart, CEO of Microbial Insights, Inc., has spent over 25 years shaping the frontier of Molecular Biological Tools, pioneering advancements in qPCR and stable isotope probing. Under her leadership, MI stands at the vanguard of the field, strengthened through strategic collaborations with leading academic and federal institutions. A distinguished global ambassador for MBTs, Dora is an invited speaker at premier environmental and corrosion forums, has led hundreds of technical workshops worldwide, and co-authored influential guidance documents. Her contributions have earned notable recognition, including ITRC EMD Team MVP (2011), Woman-Owned Business of the Year (2016), Business Person of the Year (2017), and the National Groundwater Association Technology Award (2022). Beyond industry impact, she serves on the Board of the Boys & Girls Club, contributes to the town council, and advises the University of Tennessee’s Department of Microbiology. From 2022–2024, she chaired the NIH MCST (12) section. She holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
