Biography

Grant Trigger is the Michigan Cleanup Manager for RACER Trust and is responsible (with a deputy) for managing a $155 million-dollar fund for the cleanup and redevelopment of 36 former GM properties in Michigan. He has over 45 years of diverse experience in the environmental industry, as an environmental engineer for 10 years, over 20 years as an environmental attorney, and 5 years in brownfield redevelopment prior to joining RACER in 2011. He created the innovative condominium strategy for the construction of a shopping center over a licensed landfill (Fairlane Green project in Allen Park, Michigan) that won the National Phoenix Brownfield Award in 2008. He has a degree in Environmental Sciences Engineering from the University of Michigan and is a cum laude graduate of the University of Detroit Law School – at which he also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law. He has authored numerous articles and presentations on technical and legal environmental topics. He currently serves as a member of the Oakland County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and recently served as a member of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Environmental Rules Review Committee.
