Biography

Alan Seech has 30 years of experience in environmental remediation. His focus is on the treatment of soil, sediment, and groundwater containing recalcitrant hydrocarbons, chlorinated organics, organic explosive compounds, and heavy metals. Dr. Seech received his M.Sc. (Soil Chemistry) and Ph.D. (Environmental Microbiology) from the University of Guelph in Canada. His research on environmental remediation has resulted in the issuance of six US patents. Reagents developed from his work include Terramend® and Daramend® for soil remediation, EHC® for groundwater treatment, MetaFix® for removal of dissolved heavy metals, and GeoForm® for biogeochemical remediation. These reagents have been used successfully at hundreds of sites worldwide. Based in southern California, Alan has published numerous articles on remediation of soil and groundwater and presented more than sixty papers at international conferences. He serves as Senior Manager of Technology Applications for Evonik’s Soil & Groundwater Remediation business.
