Biography

John Boylan is Groundwater Lead for the Rocky Flats Site, responsible for groundwater monitoring, treatment systems, and corresponding data evaluation, reporting, and public presentations. He led the Rocky Flats well abandonment and replacement program, reducing the pre-closure network from approximately 1500 wells to the 87-well post-closure network, working with regulators, stakeholders, and client and contractor representatives to achieve agreement on the final network, analytical suites, monitoring frequencies, and decision rules. He has designed, performed, and overseen treatability studies and treatment system optimization projects, one of which received DOE sustainability and Presidential awards. He has BA and MS degrees in Geology.
