Biography

Dr. Bushamuka is the Senior Technical Advisor for Food Security and Livelihoods for Action Against Hunger USA. He has over 30 years of work experience designing, managing, and evaluating food security, climate change adaptation, resilience, and agricultural development programs in resource-poor countries. Dr. Bushamuka has worked for different organizations as a global and regional Food Security Advisor, Regional Representative, and Program and Business Development Director. These organizations include FAO in Italy, Helen Keller International in Bangladesh, the United States Agency for International Development in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Senegal (covering over 15 countries in West and Central Africa), Concern Worldwide in the DRC, and Lutheran World Relief - Corus International in the USA. These positions have involved work in more than 25 countries located in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He holds a PhD and MS degrees in agricultural and environmental sciences from Cornell University.
