Biography

Helder is a Principal Consultant and Sediment Practice Leader with Haley & Aldrich. With more than 35 years of experience as an environmental chemist, he has designed numerous investigations featuring forensic differentiation of major point and combined background sources for conceptual site model development, toxicity reduction evaluation, liability allocation, and cost recovery. Helder has also worked on numerous oil spills, including the Exxon Valdez in Prince William Sound and the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, and published on the differentiation of pyrogenic PAH sources and monitored natural recovery of petroleum and PAH-contaminated sediments.
