E8.: PFAS Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessment and Toxicity (Platform)

Downloads

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a large class of recalcitrant contaminants and a growing challenge for the assessment of new and ongoing site investigations. The literature around PFAS toxicology is constantly evolving alongside the methods to quantify their occurrence and characterize potential exposure pathways. This session will present these challenges and the opportunities to improve risk assessments for PFAS in site investigations. The platforms and posters include methods for identifying toxicity factors, characterizing novel exposure pathways, analytical methods for wildlife and biomonitoring, as well as case studies for sampling in a variety of ecosystems.
