Formatted Title
Developments in Geospatial and Data Visualization Techniques for Contaminated Sites
Background/Objectives
Demand for data management and data visualization services in the industry has grown tremendously over the past few years. Companies expect data to be readily available, easy to understand and actionable. This trend requires new approaches and dedicated data-focused teams to become embedded into the larger project team.
Approach/Activities
This presentation will highlight several new and innovative approaches to collecting, managing, and visualizing site data to ultimately help tell a data-driven story. We will go over data collection from UAV/Drones, to interactive dashboards, to unique downhole data visualization techniques. We will focus on how we can bring it all together into a cohesive story using engaging and interactive online platforms.
Results/Lessons Learned
Companies and consultants need to develop data-focused teams that are deeply embedded in the projects and have the right software platforms in order to effectively tell the story of a site using data. All aspects of the data life cycle need to be assessed from collection, to management, to visualization.
