DUANE GUILFOIL, P.E. President/Principal AST Environmental, Inc. Mr. Guilfoil has over 32 years of experience in environmental engineering and remediation. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and holds a P.E. license in the State of Kentucky. After graduating, he began his career with Roy F. Weston, Inc. (Weston Solutions) in Atlanta, GA. During his six years with Weston Solutions, he served as a project engineer and manager on multiple large remedial actions involving the construction of hazardous waste containment and closure systems; hazardous waste excavation and removal; and in-situ mechanical treatment systems (SVE, DPE, and Pump and Treat). In 1996, Mr. Guilfoil took a position with Shield Environmental, Inc. (Shield) in Lexington, Kentucky. During his last three years with Shield, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for the company, managing an environmental technical staff of 40 engineers, geologists, and scientists. Mr. Guilfoil also served as the project director for the environmental investigation and remediation of approximately 600 leaking underground storage tank sites in Kentucky and surrounding states. In 2003, Mr. Guilfoil joined AST Environmental, Inc. (AST) in Lexington, Kentucky as a principal engineer focused on identifying and implementing emerging remedial technologies. In 2005, AST and Mr. Guilfoil began focusing attention on the emerging in-situ injection market and the products being introduced. Since that time AST has become a leading in-situ technology company providing a unique injection approach involving high resolution sampling, detailed conceptual site models, intricate designs, and surgical injection techniques. This approach has been used to successfully reach remedial objectives on over 500 in-situ injection projects.
