Biography
Dr. Hanadi Rifai is Moores Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Houston. She received her MS and PhD from Rice University in Environmental Engineering. Dr. Rifai has held numerous leadership positions at UH including Director of the Environmental Engineering Graduate Program, and Associate Dean for Research in the Cullen College of Engineering at UH. She currently leads the Hurricane Resilience Research Institute (HuRRI) and is a Council member of the Galveston Bay Council. Dr. Rifai's research activities have focused on fate and transport of persistent organic pollutants in estuarine systems.
