Biography

Chandy V. John, PhD Sr. Oceanographer/Limnologist Environment, DCS Americas Dr. Chandy John is an oceanographer, limnologist, and numerical modeler with over 30 years of consulting and research experience. He has over 15 years of sediment management, modeling & permitting experience in lakes, estuaries and coastal waters of US. He has successfully addressed investigation and restoration of clean and contaminated sediment sites in US and Canada. For Cedar and Ortega rivers in Florida, Tampa Bay Westshore Canals, Sinclair Inlet, Bremerton, WA he addressed sediment dredging, sediment characterization, and environmental impact. He has addressed clean sediment fate and transport in Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, He has detailed understanding of estuarine and coastal processes, waves, circulation, water levels, freshwater flows, sediment and pollutant transport, salinity intrusion in estuaries, coastal dynamics, and sea level rise. He has provided technical leadership for basin wide watershed, hydrodynamic, water quality, sediment/dredge material fate and transport modeling in Florida. His software experience and training include development & application of a variety of multi-dimensional sediment and dredged material fate and transport projects and permitting.
