Biography

Renee Jordan Ward, Ph.D. (she/her) 1) Physical Scientist/Remedial Project Manager, Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9 Superfund & Emergency Management Division (2022-present) - Direct and monitor cleanup efforts at Superfund sites, including the Palos Verdes Shelf site. - Evaluate environmental contamination and remediation strategies consistent with environmental regulatory laws and policies. - Determine appropriate cleanup actions, methods and technologies. - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to set clear project goals, meet timelines, and achieve objectives aligned with long-term cleanup priorities. 2) Ph.D. Biological Sciences, Northern Arizona University (2022) - Developed and conducted community-based participatory research with Tribal communities to assess the health effects of environmental contamination originating from former military installations in Alaska B.A. Chemistry/Biochemistry, Macalester College (2014)
