D5. Monitored Natural Recovery and Sediment Bioremediation (Poster)

Biography

1) I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Engineering at The University of Iowa. My current research is about the bioremediation of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) contaminated sediment. I'm especially interested in removing the most volatile portions of PCBs, lower-chlorinated PCBs, using aerobic PCB-degraders. I'm developing novel approaches involved in biology and materials to improve the degradation efficacy and ability to apply for in-situ contaminated sediment remediation.
