Biography

Dogus Meric is a Principal based in Illinois with more than 14 years of experience focused on the management and remediation of contaminated sediment sites and developing tailored environmental solutions into contaminated sediment and waterfront development efforts in North America and Australia. Dogus helps clients by delivering effective, implementable, and economical solutions tailored to achieve their objectives and to receive stakeholder and regulatory acceptance. He develops and leads multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems from early planning to design, construction, and closure. He has been involved in various CERCLA projects since 2015, and designed and implemented the first two full-scale ISS remediation projects in the world. Several of his projects involving sediment ISS remediation received numerous international awards. To advance the state of the practice, Dogus is involved in development of ITRC sediment cap guidance, and co-authored an ASTM International standard guidance document on corrective action objectives on sediment sites. He also served on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource (WDNR) External Advisory Group for contaminated sediments. He has authored a number of articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented his work in national and international conferences.
