Biography

Dr. David J. Lampert is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University, an M.S. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He previously served as a tenure-track faculty member at Oklahoma State University and as a staff scientist at Argonne National Laboratory. Dr. Lampert’s research interests include energy and water sustainability, contaminant fate and transport modeling, water and wastewater treatment, life cycle assessment, and water quality modeling. He has been awarded external grants and contracts for his research exceeding $2,000,000 from sponsors including the U.S. National Science Foundation, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and other private, local, and state organizations.
