Biography

JOHN V. FONTANA, CPG, CWD - BIOGRAPHY As President, CEO, and owner of Vista GeoScience, John manages all operations including Environmental & Geotechnical Drilling, High Resolution Site Characterization, 2D/3D Data Modeling and Interpretation, Design and Implementation of In-Situ Remediation Injections, Stray Gas Migration and Soil Gas Investigations. A certified professional geologist, certified well driller, and licensed water well driller in multiple states, he has nearly 40 years of experience in these fields and has co-authored over 100 presentations, keynotes, papers, and workshops. He has supported many large investigation and remediation projects (up to $1.5 million) at DOD, DOE and commercials sites. John served on two ITRC guidance document teams, Optimizing In-Situ Remediation Performance & Injection Strategies and is currently on the Advanced Site Characterization Tools Update team. In 2013, he was nominated to the EPA’s Science Advisory Board on Hydraulic Fracturing Impacts on Drinking Water. John earned a in Geology, Oceanography and Physics degree from Humboldt State University in California in 1981.
